As its first anniversary of the return of the land and the dignity of the Azerbaijani citizen, we highlight the 44-day war between the valiant Azerbaijani forces against the Armenian forces usurping the land. During that short period, the Azerbaijani army, with the hands and blood of its sons, won a crushing victory over the Armenian army, ending a conflict that lasted for many years and claimed the lives of thousands of native Azerbaijanis.
The Azerbaijani army, equipped with professional, trained, advanced and agile military equipment and was able to successfully carry out any military mission against the invaders from the historical Azerbaijani lands, managed to regain control of 5 cities, the last of which is Shusha, 4 towns and more than 280 villages, as well as strategic hills.
The process of restoring Shusha was a turning point in the battle. No one visiting Shusha can imagine, after seeing those steep rocks, how the Azerbaijani army managed to capture this fortified fortress. But we liberated Shusha and thanks to professionalism, courage, heroism and a high patriotic spirit, as the beginning of surrender and recognition of defeat and the signing of the surrender agreement on November 10, 2020, to recover the rest of the occupied areas of Kalbjar, Lachin and Agdam without firing a single shot.
The victory march of the glorious army of Azerbaijan under the leadership of the President, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev, ensured the historical victory of the country. The Azerbaijani people rightly celebrate the liberation of occupied lands for nearly 30 years, restoration of historical justice and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
