President Aliyev attends the launch of the Baku Conference of the Network of Parliaments of the Non-Aligned Movement

AZERTAC – President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated today the activities of the Baku Conference of the Network of Parliaments of the Non-Aligned Movement, which took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center in the center of the capital.

The conference devoted to the theme “Strengthening the Role of National Parliaments in Promoting Peace and Sustainable Development in the World” will be attended by parliamentary delegations from more than 40 countries and representatives from 9 international parliamentary organizations.

The 3-day conference adopts the Baku Declaration and the system of working rules of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement with the approval of the emblem and banner of the organization and the election of the institution’s president and deputies.

The program of events also includes holding meetings between delegations participating in the conference and officials in the country. The participants will also visit the liberated lands of Azerbaijan from the Armenian occupation, including the city of Shusha, the capital of Azerbaijan’s culture, to get a closer look at the extent of the devastation, destruction and demolition that it suffered during the period of the Armenian occupation and the scope of the reconstruction, rehabilitation, reconstruction and construction works carried out by Azerbaijan in it after its liberation.
