His Excellency Mr. Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asoumi, President of the Arab Parliament (AP), met with a delegation from the Hemaya (protection) Association, headed by Islam Awad, President of the Association, at the headquarters of the Arab Parliament in Cairo, where the meeting discussed ways to strengthen relations and coordination between the Arab Parliament and the Hemaya Association in many popular youth community initiatives.
The President of the Arab Parliament stressed the Arab Parliament’s interest in all initiatives aimed at strengthening joint Arab community action and advancing it in all fields, praising the role of civil and private society institutions in consolidating friendship between Arab and Islamic peoples, praising the initiatives undertaken by the Protection Association to enhance this to serve society.
For his part, Islam Awad, President of the Hemaya Association, expressed the association’s appreciation for the great role played by the Arab Parliament in defending the important and strategic interests and issues of the Arab nation in all forums and at all levels, as it is the Arab parliamentary institution that represents the voice of the Arab street.
The meeting was attended by a number of members of the association, including Major General Mahmoud Helmy, Secretary-General of the Association, Major General Muhammad Nassar, Dr. Muhammad Al-Mawi, Safwat Hammad, and Mahmoud Hassan.
