His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today, Monday, June 2, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Abbas Araghchi, at Al-Ittihadiya Presidential Palace in Cairo. The meeting was also attended by Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty.
The visit comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and Iran, and to establish new channels of communication and cooperation at both regional and international levels. Discussions during the meeting addressed ways to advance mutual relations and included an exchange of views on several pressing regional issues — notably the situations in Gaza, Yemen, and Syria — as well as broader regional de-escalation efforts.
President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast position in favor of dialogue, political solutions, and the preservation of state sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing Egypt’s commitment to supporting regional peace and stability.
For his part, Foreign Minister Araghchi conveyed greetings from Iran’s leadership to President El-Sisi, and expressed Tehran’s interest in building constructive and balanced relations with Cairo based on mutual respect and shared interests.
