Poetry: Ashraf AboArafe
From the Bosphorus’ blue to the Nile’s gold,
Two ancient realms, their stories told.
Pharaohs and sultans, in centuries past,
Shared winds of trade that forever last.
Silk once flowed through the harbors’ light,
Spices and voices filled the night.
Caravans crossed both land and sea,
Binding their fates through history.
Through storms of change, they stood apart,
Yet memory lingered in each heart.
Bridges of trust were worn and thin,
Till hope returned to build again.
Now Cairo’s call meets Istanbul’s song,
Two rivers in harmony, steady and strong.
For peace, for trade, for all to see,
They walk a path of destiny.
And in Gaza’s grief, they raise one voice,
Defending the right of a people’s choice.
No exile, no hunger, no stolen land—
Their pledge is firm, their stance will stand.
From minarets’ call to temple’s chime,
They craft a bond through the test of time.
Egypt and Türkiye, side by side,
Sailing together on history’s tide.
