Islamabad has categorically rejected what it called “irresponsible remarks” made by India’s External Affairs Minister during recent media interactions in Brussels, criticizing the tone and substance of the statements.

In an official statement, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry emphasized that the discourse of senior diplomats should promote peace and harmony, rather than resort to “bellicose punchlines.” The Ministry urged Indian officials to adopt a tone befitting their diplomatic stature.

The statement accused India of running a “malicious narrative of victimhood” for years to mislead the international community, while allegedly engaging in activities that extend beyond its borders, including “state-sponsored terrorism” and oppression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Islamabad also criticized India’s justification of its “recent aggressive actions”, calling on New Delhi to introspect on its own record regarding terrorism, subversion, and targeted killings.

Reaffirming its commitment to peaceful coexistence and dialogue, Pakistan warned that it remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty, referencing its “robust” response to India’s military strikes last month.

The statement concluded by describing India’s rhetoric as a reflection of “frustration” following what it characterized as a failed military adventure. Pakistani officials advised Indian leadership to “improve the standard of their discourse” and “discard their obsession with Pakistan.”

“History will judge not by who shouted the loudest — but by who acted the wisest,” the statement concluded.
