Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, received today Ambassador Sabit Subašić, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Egypt, at his office in the Cairo Governorate headquarters.

During the meeting, the Governor of Cairo affirmed that relations between Egypt and Bosnia and Herzegovina are deep-rooted, enduring, and shaped by a long and meaningful history.

The discussion reviewed the major developments witnessed by Egypt—and Cairo in particular—over the past decade, especially in the fields of infrastructure, road networks, mass transportation, urban development, the upgrading of informal areas, and the improvement of public utilities and services.

Both sides also explored ways to strengthen cooperation between Cairo and Sarajevo in culture and heritage, tourism, education, capacity-building, as well as economic and investment opportunities. Emphasis was placed on the importance of activating the existing friendship agreement between the two cities.

For his part, the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed deep appreciation for the role played by Egypt during the aggression against his country, highlighting the substantial assistance and support provided by the Egyptian state and people. He also praised the Egyptian forces who participated as part of international peacekeeping missions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
