The Ambassador of Russia to Egypt, Georgy Borisenko, extended his congratulations to the Russian community in Egypt on the occasion of the New Year, expressing warm wishes to both the Russian and Egyptian peoples:
Dear Russian citizens living in Egypt, and our cherished Egyptian friends,
Another year slowly folds its final page. The world has trembled under the weight of events, and the Middle East — from Lebanon and Syria to Qatar and Iran — has endured storms of aggression and pain. The Palestinian people, threatened with uprooting from their homeland, have suffered profoundly. Yet, even in Gaza’s devastated horizon, a ray of hope flickered — thanks in great measure to Egypt’s steadfast and tireless efforts.
Russia, too, stands firm in the face of challenges. Once again, the forces of the “collective West” attempt to impose their hegemony. But unlike the Western-backed Kyiv regime, Russia fights with its own hands, its own army — reclaiming its lands step by step. Though NATO and the European Union strive to prolong the conflict, we remain unshaken in our conviction that truth shall prevail, strengthened by the support of peoples who share our vision — among them, the people of Egypt.
Russian-Egyptian relations pulse with mutual warmth and genuine human connection. They expand through flourishing cultural exchange, mixed families, and waves of tourism. Economically, the partnership only grows stronger — seen clearly in the construction of the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant and the continuous supply of grain. On the global stage, our united diplomatic stance is reflected in our work within BRICS and our joint coordination across international arenas.
We were deeply honored by the presence of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Moscow on May 9th, celebrating the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War — joined by Egyptian soldiers marching proudly across Red Square. And the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, hosted in Cairo on 19-20 December, once again underscored the central role of the ancient “Land of the Pyramids” — a gateway to Africa.
Russia treasures its friendship with Egypt, and looks ahead to further deepening this partnership in 2026. Mutual understanding and cooperation are not mere political tools — but the very foundations required to overcome hardship, bring stability to the Middle East, and foster peace in the world.
Finally, I extend heartfelt congratulations to both our peoples as the New Year dawns.
May the months ahead be filled with joy, prosperity, and good health.
Happy New Year — and may our shared aspirations move ever closer to the light.
