Alamein, Egypt — Under the golden sun of Egypt’s North Coast, the waves of Alamein carried not only the rhythm of competition but the spirit of friendship. Turkish Ambassador to Egypt Salih Mutlu Şen congratulated the national swimmers affiliated with the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation, who proudly represented Türkiye at the 2025 Open Water Pallet Swimming World Championship held in Alamein.
In his remarks, Ambassador Şen praised the young athletes for their zeal, discipline, and achievements, describing their participation as “a reflection of Türkiye’s sporting spirit and the deep bonds uniting the peoples of Egypt and Türkiye.”
The Turkish delegation expressed great admiration for the championship’s excellent organization, lauding the world-class facilities and the glamour of Egypt’s North Coast. They also highlighted the impressive performance of Egyptian athletes in open water swimming—a sport that demands endurance, courage, and connection with the sea.
As part of their visit, the ambassador shared his wish for the Turkish swimmers and management to enjoy a cultural journey through the heart of Egypt this Sunday, including visits to the Pyramids of Giza, the Grand Egyptian Museum, and Old Cairo—a gesture symbolizing the meeting of history, culture, and sport between the two nations.
