In a move reflecting the depth and continuity of Egypt’s foreign policy engagement, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Badr Abdelatty delivered a written message from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Russian President Vladimir Putin during an official visit to Moscow.

The message underscored Egypt’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Russia across political, economic, and developmental dimensions. It also emphasized the importance of sustained coordination on pressing regional and international issues of mutual concern.

During the meeting, Minister Abdelatty conveyed President El-Sisi’s greetings and reaffirmed Cairo’s appreciation for the longstanding ties between the two nations. The discussions highlighted key joint projects, most notably the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant and the Russian Industrial Zone in the Suez Canal Economic Zone—both seen as pillars of long-term cooperation and technology transfer.

Economic collaboration featured prominently, particularly in the field of food security. Egypt reiterated its interest in maintaining strong trade relations with Russia, especially in wheat, grain, and oil imports, while both sides explored prospects for expanding logistical cooperation in energy and agricultural supply chains.

On the geopolitical front, the talks addressed escalating tensions in the Middle East. Egypt reaffirmed its firm stance in favor of diplomatic solutions and de-escalation efforts, stressing the urgency of preventing further regional instability. The Egyptian side also outlined its ongoing mediation efforts and commitment to restoring calm through political dialogue.

The meeting further covered developments in Palestine, Sudan, Libya, and the Horn of Africa, in addition to Egypt’s water security concerns, which remain a top national priority tied to international legal frameworks.

President Putin, for his part, conveyed his appreciation to President El-Sisi, praising Egypt’s balanced diplomacy and its constructive role in promoting regional stability.

Overall, the exchange of messages and high-level dialogue signals a continued alignment between Cairo and Moscow, reinforcing a partnership that extends beyond bilateral interests to broader regional and global dynamics.
