The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – chaired the session held by the Cabinet today in Riyadh.
At the beginning of the session, the Cabinet was briefed on the content of the talks that took place during the past few days between His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect him – and the leaders of a number of brotherly and friendly countries, within the framework of close relations and continuous communication and consultation on various regional and international issues.
In this context, the Cabinet expressed its thanks to His Excellency the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, for what he expressed during his phone call with His Highness the Crown Prince, of good feelings towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its efforts in hosting fruitful talks between his country and the United States of America, with the Cabinet reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to exerting efforts to enhance security and peace in the world, and to consolidate dialogue as the only way to resolve all international crises.
His Excellency the Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet for Shura Council Affairs and Acting Minister of Media, Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed, explained in his statement following the session that the Council discussed the results of the Kingdom’s participation in regional and international meetings, as part of its continuous support for multilateral action that serves sustainable development and prosperity, and contributes to addressing common global challenges.
The Council of Ministers looked forward to the outcomes of the Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum contributing to unifying efforts and developing innovative solutions to enhance humanitarian response in light of the increasing disasters and crises witnessed by the world, highlighting in this context the keenness of the Kingdom since its establishment to extend a helping hand and assistance to the most needy countries and peoples, and to provide relief to the afflicted in various parts of the world.
The Council praised the overall work of the first annual global conference of emerging market economies in Al-Ula, which was held jointly by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the International Monetary Fund, and the strategic content and visions it included that enhance the prospects of international cooperation and pave the way for a promising economic future for the world.
His Excellency stated that the Council considered the Kingdom’s presidency of the General Council of the World Trade Organization for the years (2025-2026 AD) as an affirmation of its international position and its leadership role in strengthening partnerships and achieving constructive results; to reach a more efficient, sustainable and comprehensive global trading system.
The Council of Ministers noted the wide-ranging international participation witnessed in the (fourth) edition of the Saudi Media Forum held in Riyadh, and the launch of initiatives that include a package of programs to enhance media business incubators and accelerators, financial and regulatory transformation, support talents, and adopt modern technologies.
