Oman Signs 4 Oil-Gas Exploration Agreements

 At the Ministy of Oil and Gas, the Government of the Sultanate signed four new agreements for oil and gas exploration in concession areas 30, 31, 49 and 52 at a total cost of US $128 million (RO49.2 million).

According to the Oman news agency, the first agreement was signed by the Government of Oman and Tethys Oil Oman Limited in concession area 49 in the southwest of the Sultanate in the Governorate of Dhofar. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Government of the Sultanate by Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad al- Rumhi, Minister of Oil and Gas and Managing Director of Tethys Oil.

The second agreement was signed by the Sultanate’s government and ARA Petroleum in concession area No.31 in the Governorate of A’Dhahirah. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Sultanate’s Government by Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad al- Rumhi, Minister of Oil and Gas and the CEO of ARA Petroleum.

The third agreement was signed by the Government of the Sultanate, Occidental Oman and Oman Oil Company Exploration and Production (Joint Offer) in the concession area No.30 in the Governorate of A’Dakhliyah. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Sultanate’s Government by Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad al- Rumhi, Minister of Oil and Gas and the President and Chief Executive Officer of Occidental and Oman Oil Company Exploration and Production.

The fourth agreement was signed between the Sultanate’s Government, Italian ENI company and Oman Oil Company Exploration and Production (Joint Offer). The agreement was signed on behalf of the Sultanate’s Government by Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad al- Rumhi, Minister of Oil and Gas, and CEOs of Italian ENI and Oman Oil Company Exploration and Production.
