Shoukry to Lenderking: Qatar sponsors terrorism and extremism either materially or providing safe haven to terrorists

Sameh Shoukry, Foreign Minister on Monday 5/3/2018, received US special representative on Qatar Anthony Zinni, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Gulf Affairs Tim Lenderking, and their accompanying delegation. The meeting mulled means to solve the Qatari crisis.
The minister reviewed concerns of Egypt and Qatar’s boycotting countries regarding the negative role played by the latter in sponsoring terrorism and extremism either materially or by providing safe haven to terrorists, spreading hate speech and incitement.
He also criticized Qatar’s intervention in the internal affairs of countries, adding that Doha threatens the social peace of these countries and the entire Arab regional security and stability, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
The delegation briefed Shoukry on the outcome of their regional trip and their assessment of efforts made by the Kuwaiti Emir to resolve the crisis, he added.
The Foreign Minister affirmed the solidarity and close coordination between the four Arab countries; Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain on the need for Qatar to implement the 13-demand list.
The four countries are always ready for dialogue with Qatar provided that Doha fulfills all its obligations in fight against terrorism and stops its hostile policies in the region, the minister added.
Qatar is the one that must be urged to prove its goodwill, Shoukry stressed. For his part, Zinni expressed his hope for a satisfactory solution to all the disputing parties during the next phase.
