Al-Ahly achieved an unprecedented record in the Egyptian Premier League for the 2019/2020 season, by defeating Tala’a El-Geish (3-0) on Saturday evening, in the last match of the final round of the competition at the “Al-Ahly we Peace” stadium.

Al-Ahly raised its score to (89 points) at the top of the standings to win the league with the largest number of points in the history of the competition, dashing its previous record, which it set when crowning the title in the 2017/2018 season with a score of (88 points).

Al-Ahly also succeeded in equalizing the record for the most number of victories in one season for the Egyptian Premier League (28 victories), which is the number that the Red Genie himself achieved in the 2017/2018 season with coach Hossam El-Badry.

However, Al-Ahly failed to chase his previous number as the highest number of goals in one edition of the league, after he only scored 74 goals, one goal behind his previous number in the 2017/2018 season in which he scored 75 goals.

In another context, Al-Ahly came out with a clean sheet in 28 games this season during the 34 games they played, after conceding only eight goals in five matches, knowing that he did not compete in the first round match for not attending Zamalek.

Al-Ahly, after Ali Lotfi kept their nets clean in front of Al-Tale’aa, reached 28 games with a clean sheet, to be unique in the record that he shared with the Ismaili, when he came out with (27 Clean Sheet in 35 games) in the 1990/1991 season.
