KSA welcomes announcing UN envoy to Yemen to extend the armistice period to two months

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s welcome to the announcement by the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, to extend the armistice period to two months, in accordance with the terms of the basic agreement, and for the UN envoy to Yemen to be able to open the Taiz road for the movement of thousands of civilians on this crossing important for daily life. and the livelihood of the Yemeni people.

The Kingdom affirms its keenness to support all efforts made by the United Nations to reach a sustainable political solution to the Yemeni crisis, and to lift the suffering of the Yemeni people to support the humanitarian, economic and development aspects, which will reflect on their security and stability. In light of this, the Kingdom appreciates the efforts of the Special Envoy that come in line with the Saudi initiative to end The Yemeni crisis to reach a comprehensive political solution announced in March 2021.
