Chief Editor Rings the Alarm Bells
Each time the Middle East shakes under the weight of an Israeli airstrike or an American bombing run, or when the blood of yet another Muslim is spilled, we are handed carefully worded statements of “condemnation” by Arab and Islamic capitals. These words are tidy, calculated, and cautious—but they are no match for the earthquake of reality, especially in the case of a full-scale assault on the Islamic Republic of Iran. Regardless of political differences, Iran has borne the burden of the Palestinian cause for over four decades—when others forgot.
The recent joint statement by 21 Arab and Islamic nations, under Egyptian sponsorship, rightly condemned Israel’s aggression, called for de-escalation, reaffirmed international law, and urged nuclear disarmament in the region. But the statement falls short of what this moment demands: political dignity, concrete action, and the minimum threshold of justified outrage.
● I had hoped this statement would have included the following:
- A clear declaration that an attack on Iran is an attack on the collective security of the Islamic Ummah.
- An immediate halt to all oil exports to Israel, the United States, and any party that supports the aggression.
- The closure of all land, air, and sea corridors to hostile warplanes, treating them as an imminent threat to regional security.
- A reminder that before Iran, it was Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Sudan—and next, it might be you.
- A rejection of hollow statements that only provoke the Arab and Muslim masses rather than comfort them. Words without teeth no longer calm fury or extinguish fires.
The Arab and Islamic peoples know what’s being orchestrated here—it’s not coincidental. The fires burning in Tehran today were preceded by flames in Baghdad, Gaza, Sanaa, Damascus, Tripoli, Khartoum—and if this continues, no capital will remain immune.
● In response, I propose a Model People’s Statement as it should have been issued:
📣 People’s Statement: For the Dignity of Arabs and Muslims
We, the undersigned members of the Arab and Islamic peoples, declare the following:
- That the attack on Iran is an assault on the future of our entire Ummah, and that official silence or neutrality amounts to complicity.
- We call for the immediate suspension of all oil exports to countries backing the assault, foremost among them the United States and the Zionist entity.
- We demand the closure of regional airspace and corridors to hostile military aircraft, and consider any such passage an act of war.
- We warn that silence will only lead to new targets, as Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, and Sudan have already shown.
- We hold our governments accountable for defending our peoples, sanctities, and sovereignty. If not in the name of Islam or Arab pride—then at least in defense of their own security.
- We call upon scholars, intellectuals, media figures, parliamentarians, and civil society to speak out clearly. This is a moment of truth—gray stances are betrayal.
● In Conclusion:
Silence in times of slaughter is betrayal. Appeasement of the aggressor is cowardice. And “balance” in the face of massacre is a crime against history and generations to come.
What we are witnessing is not just “an attack on Iran”—it is part of a systematic war against every remaining pillar of Muslim dignity.
From this moment forward, let those who cannot speak a word of truth fall silent forever—while those who still carry the fire of faith and honor step forward. This is not just a test for armies. It is a test of whether we are still worthy of being called Arabs, Muslims, or even human beings.
