The Ambassador of Pakistan to the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Aamir Shouket, paid a courtesy call on the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayyad, at Dar al-Ifta in Cairo today.
Ambassador Aamir Shouket conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the Government and people of Pakistan to Grand Mufti Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayyad. He expressed satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation between Pakistan and Egypt in the field of religious education, and commended the scholars of Al-Azhar for their global efforts in promoting the true spirit and values of Islam.
During the meeting, both sides discussed key issues and challenges facing the Muslim world. Hate speech was identified as a serious threat to global peace and interfaith harmony.
Grand Mufti Dr. Nazir Mohammed Ayyad noted that Pakistan enjoys deep respect within Egyptian society as a leading Muslim nation. He fondly recalled his recent visit to Pakistan, where he had the opportunity to meet with the country’s senior leadership, including the Prime Minister. He extended his sincere prayers and best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Pakistan.
