In a night where glory mingled with golden lights, and the Caucasian breeze met the scent of the Nile, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Cairo celebrated the fifth anniversary of Victory Day at one of the capital’s elegant hotels. The hall shimmered with the colors of the Azerbaijani flag, while songs of freedom and triumph filled the air — each note echoing the spirit of a land reborn.

Ambassador Elkhan Polukhov delivered a heartfelt address, recalling the proud moments when Azerbaijan liberated its occupied territories from Armenian control. He emphasized that this triumph was not merely a military success but a national epic of will, dignity, and restoration — a victory that rekindled the soul of a nation. “From this spirit of sacrifice and renewal,” he said, “comes our celebration tonight — a tribute to peace born from the struggle for freedom.”

Turning to Azerbaijan–Egypt relations, Ambassador Polukhov praised the deepening cooperation and mutual respect between the two nations, noting the exchange of high-level visits, including at the presidential level. He also highlighted the recent participation of President Ilham Aliyev in the 2025 Peace Agreement, which brokered a ceasefire between the Palestinian resistance and Israel, reflecting Azerbaijan’s growing role as a bridge of dialogue and diplomacy in the region.

The evening brought together a distinguished gathering of political figures, diplomats, and media representatives, including former Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed El-Orabi, Turkish Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen, Ambassador Gennady Askar, and the Ambassador of Albania, among others.

As the night drew to a close, traditional Azerbaijani exhibition of the war images filled the hall, weaving tales of victory, heritage, and pride. And through it all, Cairo stood — as it always has — a cradle of friendship and peace, embracing the triumphs of its allies with warmth, grace, and timeless hospitality.
