On Thursday, August 28, Cairo welcomed a Chinese delegation led by Catherine Chen, Director of the Western China International Communication Organization, as part of efforts to expand cultural and media cooperation between Egypt and China.
The visit comes in conjunction with the cultural exchange program “Yangtze Meets the Nile”, scheduled to take place in Cairo from September 2 to 4, 2025, at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, under the auspices of Egyptian official media and cultural institutions.
The event carries special significance as it precedes next year’s celebration of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the People’s Republic of China and the Arab Republic of Egypt—an occasion that highlights the deep historical ties and the mutual commitment of both nations to strengthen understanding and friendship between their peoples.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Chinese delegation expressed appreciation for the warm reception and Egypt’s dedication to reinforcing cultural cooperation.
